| YWAMTyler, TexasThe venue was Twin Oaks Ranch, garden City. This is an extremely beautiful and blessed location set in 23 acres of East Texas rolling countryside which is very green at this time of year. Large lakes are a feature all around the ranch, and they were designed for rearing catfish. catfish appear on the menus of all the restaurants in the region. There is even one called Catfish Heaven. The Ranch was sold to YWAM by David Wilkerson of Teen Challenge for a tenth of the price he paid. Quite a number of YWAM's training schools are accommodated on the campus. The Discipleship Training School, Crossroads, and the School of Intercession at which we were teaching. On adjacent sites are sister ministries such as Mercy Ships and Mercy Missions.
The School of Intercession is headed up by Tana Price and the delegates are largely either graduates from The Discipleship School or staff of YWAM, some from sister ministries such as Mercy Ships and some even from other locations in America.
We tried to give the delegates an overview of aspects of Jesus ministry of healing from God's Nature and will to heal, our authority in Jesus through to practical methods of ministry including invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit in power. On the Thursday morning we looked at the practicalities and logistics of direct ministry and asked the Holy Spirit to come. He came in power. That evening the class came with us to an ecumenical outreach meeting in Tyler. Again I asked the Holy Spirit to come and invited the class to go into the congregation and minister. They were able to experience the reality and faithfulness of God to honour His word even when we do not expect it. We enjoyed the week thoroughly. It was such a wonderful experience for us to live alongside so many people fully sold out to Jesus. Tana has suggested that we might come to teach again next Spring. not only at the School of Intercession but also the Discipleship Training School. We would consider it a privilege to be invited.
